In 1919 fishermen came by train to Whistler to stay at the "Rainbow Lodge" run by Alex and Myrtle Phillips. The Valley's five cool lakes teemed with fish which literally jumped into the anglers' boats, or so the story goes.
Ninety years later people are still attracted to the scenic mountain community and Whistler has grown into an internationally acclaimed resort with over 10,000 permanent residents.
